Nobody played Fast-pitch like Eddie Feigner. The Washington Post described him as “the greatest softball pitcher who ever lived. For those who may not know what the King and his Court was, it was a 4 man fast-pitch softball team that Feigner assembled in 1946 and led by the man they called the King, Eddie Feigner. This 4 man team played more than 10,000 soft ball games around the world until the death of Eddie Feigner in 2007.

Feigner held just about every record in the world of fast-pitch. He had 9,743 victories, 141,517 strikeouts, 930 no-hitters and 238 perfect games. One time he appeared in a in a celebrity charity softball game against many Major League players. In the game Feigner struck out Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Brooks Robinson, Roberto Clemente, Maury Wills, and Harmon Killebrew all in a row.

For those of you who know that Feigner is buried in the Huntsville Memory Gardens Cemetery, you may not know the dream of fast-pitch didn’t get buried with him.

Two men in Canada have taken on the task of keeping Feigners love of the sport alive. Of course they will never duplicate the abilities that the gifted Feigner had, they do duplicate his love for Fast Pitch.

Monday night at 7:00p.m. Est. join us for the next episode of the Cleveland Sports 360 show as we welcome the new King And His Court to the show. Justin Tersigni and Dwayne Curtis are just a couple of the guys who had the vision to keep Feigner’s love of the game alive. Both men from Canada will be joining us live on the show with some of their teammates that play on the New King and His Court fast-pitch soft ball team.

The list of players that continue to play the sport of Fast-Pitch is amazing. Guys are still traveling the globe in search of perfection when it comes to duplicating the foundation that Eddie Feigner laid down. As the great Feigner still traveled with his team after suffering a stroke in 2000, he only had one thought on his mind, that thought was, “KEEP FASTPITCH ALIVE.”

That is exactly what men like Justin Tersigni and Dwayne Curtis and their teammates are doing, they are honoring a dyeing mans last words. These guys and their teammates are doing their part to keep fast-pitch alive just like the man said. Here are a few words from Tersigni about keeping the dream alive;

What if you created a team of elite players whos objective was to honor the games history, mentor younger players, support charities, promote the game and of course WIN? Within a few short months 25 of North Americas best players joined the cause now dubbed project J.U.I.C.E ( join us in creating enthusiasm ). Entering into 2013 we now had the team we dreamed of just a few months earlier. Next we needed a home, a starting point. Our criteria for choosing this starting point was merely to find some town that has a passion for the game. This search lead us to the Town of Grimsby where we had the pleasure of meeting Jen Lawson, president of the Grimsby Baseball Association and her group of dedicated volunteers who have taken on the difficult task of taking Grimsby Fastpitch to the next level. As fastball players raised in southern Ontario, we remember playing against Grimsby. They were elite players of all ages and genders. The Grimsby Baseball Executives and Diamond Kings share a common goal, “KEEP FASTPITCH ALIVE”. Words left to us by the King himself, Eddie Feigner. It was obvious to everyone that the Diamond Kings had found their home and starting point.
